Case study of gas booster pump technology to enable efficient operation of gas booster systems.

    Typical applications of gas pressurization systems are as follows


    1. Project Overview


    After the energy-saving technology renovation of the Copper Mine Yu Mineral Processing Plant, four HP500 cone crushers and one HP6 cone crusher will be installed in the crushing section. On November 22, 2019, three accumulators of HP6 cone crusher lost pressure. After disassembly and inspection, it was found that the airbag had ruptured. After replacing the airbag with a new one, nitrogen gas needs to be replenished. However, the existing nitrogen gas cylinder pressure is only 90 bar, which cannot meet the filling requirements. The accumulator is used in the iron release assembly of the crusher and is used in conjunction with the release cylinder. When the crusher experiences a sudden increase in iron or other loads, the hydraulic oil in the release cylinder can instantly flow back to the accumulator, quickly lifting the piston rod to better protect the crusher components and reduce the damage of impact loads to the machine.


    There are 3 types of HP series cone crushers with a total of 30 accumulators, with filling pressures of 105 bar, 120 bar, and 170 bar respectively. Currently, the calibrated pressure of industrial nitrogen cylinders is 150 bar, and they are generally filled to 120 bar. However, the actual nitrogen pressure upon arrival is only about 90 bar, which cannot meet the requirements for accumulator filling. After consulting with the crusher manufacturer and relevant technical personnel, a gas pressurization system can be used to pressurize nitrogen to meet the charging pressure of the accumulator.


    The scope of supply for this project is one set of gas boosting system for the Copper Mine Yu Mineral Processing Plant.


    2. Environmental conditions


    2.1 Working conditions


    The pressurized gas is nitrogen.


    2.2 Location of use


    The crushing section of the Copper Mine Yu Mineral Processing Plant. Annual maximum temperature: 45 ℃, minimum temperature: -15 ℃, average relative humidity: 65%.


    3. Equipment performance and technical requirements


    3.1 Name and quantity of supplied equipment


    One set of gas boosting system, including one Feentor brand gas boosting pump, pneumatic binary system, pressure gauge, manual valve, high-pressure needle valve, unloading valve, and safety valve.


    3.2 Supply Requirements


    The scope of supply is not limited to the above content. The supplier shall provide supporting auxiliary materials such as adapters and connecting pipes according to the on-site needs, and provide various accessories with standard configurations required to ensure the normal operation of the equipment, meet the system installation and user functional requirements, and be responsible for the on-site installation and maintenance training of the gas boosting system.
